It's colour ranges from light yellow to a dark golden (it is sometimes darker because of the inclusion of honeydew). This honey is obtained from several dozen melliferous plant species (common dandelion, raspberry, buckthorn, white and red clover, melilot and other papilionaceous plants, lungwort, lime, weeds of the Cruciferae family (Brassicaceae), willow herb, foxtail lily, plum and plants of the Umbelliferae, Caryophyllaceae and Labiatae families).
Lithuanian honey has strong characteristic aroma and bitterish aftertaste.
It has a low water content, high density, a low 5-hydroxymethylfurfural content and a stable pH.
